England set to be kicked out of luxury RWC training base
Just when you thought this World Cup couldn't get any better, reports have emerged that England will be forced to handover the keys of their luxury London training base to a rival nation ahead of the quarter finals.
In the lead up to the World Cup, England’s governing body (RFU) invested £2.5 million in their state-of-the-art training base at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot to give the host nation the best chance of claiming their second Rugby World Cup.
However after losing consecutive matches to Wales and then Australia, the side will be forced to vacate the premises to make way for one of the remaining eight quarter finalists.
The hotel, which was built in the 19th century, is set in 120 acres of Surrey parkland between Ascot, Sunningdale and Wentworth and is only a 40-minute drive from Twickenham.
It features a newly built training field and a two-storey training centre housing a gym, weights area and changing rooms, all funded by the RFU.
