All but a handful of teams have just one pool match remaining in the 2015 Rugby World Cup with the eight quarter final spots still well and truly up in the air.

Rugby News has taken a look at the week ahead and summarised how the 12 remaining matches will effect the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Pool A

Australia and Wales are through to the knockout stages after both beating England in recent weeks, however both sides will be desperate to top Pool A and avoid meeting New Zealand before the final, and can do so by winning Sunday morning’s clash.

Presuming South Africa beat the USA and Scotland beat Samoa, the winner of Sunday’s Australia/Wales clash will play Scotland in the quarter final, whilst the loser will face South Africa.

Remaining games: (AEDT)

Wednesday, 6am: Fiji v Uruguay

Saturday, 2.45am: Australia v Wales

Saturday, 6am: England v Uruguay

Pool B

As mentioned above, South Africa and Scotland can book their spots in the knockout stages with victories over the USA and Samoa in their final pool matches.

If either side loses, Japan can move out of the pool stage for the very first time with a victory over the USA.

The winner of Pool B will play either Australia or Wales, with the runner-up facing the winner of Sunday’s Pool A decider.

Remaining games: (AEDT)

Thursday, 2.45am: South Africa v USA

Sunday, 12.30am: Samoa v Scotland

Monday, 6am: USA v Japan

Pool C

New Zealand have already qualified for the quarter finals and can secure top spot on Pool C by beating Tonga on Saturday morning. Argentina can also secure their berth in the knockout stages by beating Namibia.

If Argentina lose, and Tonga can upset the Kiwis, Tonga will replace the Pumas in the quarter finals.

New Zealand will most likely face the loser of Monday morning’s France/Ireland clash, with Argentina (or Tonga) set to face the winner of the Pool D decider.

Georgia will also qualify automatically for the 2019 RWC in Japan if they beat Namibia on Thursday morning and Tonga lose to New Zealand.

Remaining games: (AEDT)

Thursday, 6am: Namibia v Georgia

Saturday, 6am:New Zealand v Tonga

Sunday, 10pm: Argentina v Namibia

Pool C

France and Ireland are both through to the quarter finals, but the two sides still have plenty to play for when they meet on Monday morning, with the loser to most likely face New Zealand a week later.

The winner will jump to the other side of the draw and will likely play Argentina in the quarter final, then Australia in the semi final (if Australia beats Wales, then Scotland in QF)

Remaining games: (AEDT)

Wednesday, 12.45am: Canada v Romania

Monday, 12.30am: Italy v Romania
