Wallabies announce preliminary train on squad
Michael Cheika's World Cup squad has started to take shape with a preliminary train on squad announced over night.
Five Melbourne Rebels, 12 Queensland Reds and five Western Force players will assemble in Brisbane today to begin training ahead of the Wallabies first official camp on the Sunshine Coast from July 5. NSW Waratahs and ACT Brumbies players will join the squad at the completion of their respective Super Rugby seasons.
Five uncapped players, including Reds star Karmichael Hunt, have been named in the squad.
Overseas-based stars Matt Giteau, George Smith and Drew Mitchell were not considered for the train-on group, but will be looked at for the first official squad named ahead of the Rugby Championship on July 5.
