21-year old scrumhalf Charlotte Caslick has been one of Australia’s best on the World Series and was named in the World Rugby Dream Team in 2015 and 2016. Caslick played for the Australian Touch Football team before switching to rugby.

Ellia Green

Ellia Green never wanted to play rugby. In 2012, the Fijian-born former sprinter was dragged by her cousin to an ARU talent identification camp and the rest was history. Green scored 19 tries for Australia in the 2015/16 World Series and will be looking to continue her try-scoring ways in Rio.

Co-captain Shannon Perry is one of the squad’s most experienced players and has represented Australia at two 15-a-side World Cups in 2010 and 2014. The qualified high-school teacher from Brisbane has a calming influence on the side and will play a crucial role in Rio.

Emilee Cherry has been one of Australia’s most consistent performers on the World Series. As a 21-year old, Cherry scored 33 tries in 2013/14 and was named World Sevens player of the year. The Queenslander also played Touch Football for Australia before shifting to rugby.

21-year old Emma Tonegato made her international rugby league debut as an 18-year old before seeing the light and joining the Women’s Sevens program a year later. The outside back from Wollongong scored five tries in one game earlier this year and was named in the World Rugby Dream Team.
