Coach threatens to drop “unacceptable” Australian U20s players

Australian under 20s coach Adrian Thompson has slammed his players after an “unacceptable” 30-10 loss to New Zealand on the Gold Coast last night. New Zealand led for the entire 80 minutes and crossed for two tries after Australian prop Tyrel Lomax received a yellow card mid way through the second half. "We got what we deserved," he said. "That’s unacceptable and we really need to turn around our attitude to be playing these guys." While the Australian’s were missing some of their bigger names for the opening match of the two test series, Thompson was clearly disappointed with his sides performance, threatening to drop a handful of players ahead of the World Championships in England, if his side doesn't produce a better effort in the return bout on Saturday. "The execution wasn’t great  but we’ve been together for the same amount of time as the Kiwis and they made a lot of mistakes too .At the end of the day they covered theirs up and we didn’t do it well enough," h
