Australian U20s coach Adrian Thompson has named an impressive starting XV to face Samoa in his side’s opening match of the U20’s Rugby World Cup on Wednesday morning (Sydney time).

Randwick flyer Andrew Kellaway will captain the side and is joined Campbell Magnay and Jonah Placid in an exciting Australian backline.

“Our Super Rugby players will give the side invaluable experience with Lolo Fakaosilea and Adam Korcyzk to give us an edge in the forwards,”Thompson said.

Australia beat Samoa 33-10 on the Gold Coast last month, as part of its month long preparation for the annual tournament.

“We have already seen what Samoa can do at the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship last month and we aware of the threat they pose across the park,” Thompson added.

“We have had a really strong preparation for the tournament and we are looking forward to kicking off our campaign.”

Fox Sports will broadcast the Australian U20s clash against Samoa live at 2.30am (AEST) on Wednesday 3 June.
