Australia names U20’s World Cup squad

Jonah-PlacidAustralian U20’s Head Coach Adrian Thompson has announced an impressive 28-man squad for next month’s U20 World Cup in Italy.

Waratahs and Randwick star Andrew Kellaway is joined by Melbourne Rebels flyer Jonah Placid, Queensland Reds players Campbell Magnay and Michael Gunn and Australian Sevens star Brad Wilken in one of Australia’s most experienced U20’s squad in recent years.

Australia lost to New Zealand in the final of the Oceania Junior Rugby Championship on Saturday, but will reconvene in Sydney to finalise preparations from Saturday 16 May, ahead of a May 25 departure for Italy.

Australia play South Africa, Italy and Samoa in a tough pool, beginning on Tuesday June 2.
