Australia let 15-point lead slip in final of Las Vegas 7s

Australia has been beaten 21-15 by Fiji in the final of the Las Vegas 7s after leading 15-0 at half time. Searching for their first tournament victory since 2012, Australia were unable to hold off the fast finishing Fijians, who crossed for three tries in the second half to claim an emotional victory just weeks after Cyclone Winston devastated the island nation. Sam Myers, Ed Jenkins and Cam Clark all crossed within the opening six minutes to give Australia a 15-point lead in the decider and managed to hold the Fijian attack off late in the half to take a decisive lead to the break. The Fijians crossed twice within two minutes midway through the second half to reduce the gap to just one point, however they handed possession back to the Australians deep in their own half in the 18th minute.
