Southern Districts have bounced back from last week’s drubbing at the hands of Sydney University, putting Randwick to the sword 43-26 at a sunny Forshaw Park but they didn’t have it all their own way. The Galloping Greens crossed four times themselves, snatching a bonus point with try number four after the siren and didn’t take a backward step against a side they surprised earlier in the year.
They trailed by only 3pts at half-time – 15-12 – their tenacity at the breakdown coupled with some loose play from the Rebels affording them plenty of turnover ball with which to profit but the home side ironed out a few glitches and went up the gears after the break to cross three more times before the visitors late consolation. The win confirms a top four finish for Souths.
