Manly v Randwick: Match Preview
Manly v Randwick
Live on 7TWO – Saturday, 3pm
Manly head into Saturday’s clash full of confidence after claiming the minor premiership with 36-17 bonus point win over the Galloping Greens last week.
Coach Damien Cummins said he isn’t worried about complacency heading into the match and still thinks his side can improve on last week.
“We can always improve,” he told Rugby News. “Our defensive lineout and our work of the ball are two focuses this week.
The Marlins welcome back captain Matt Lucas for the clash.
Randwick coach Shannon Fraser is doing his best to forget about last weekend’s loss and told Rugby News that finals football was a whole new ball game. Despite that, he knows his team will need to improve if they are to extend their season past Saturday.
“You can’t miss that many tackles and expect to win against the competition leaders, it’s that simple. Defensively, we have tweaked a few things and gone back to the basics,” Fraser said.
“In big games it comes down to the execution of the basics at critical times. We need to be better at that this week.”
Catch Manly and Randwick live on 7TWO from 3pm on Saturday.
