2016 Shute Shield Team Of The Year: Forwards

After one of the closest and most entertaining Shute Shield seasons in history, we've put together our team of the year for 2016. Props – David Lolohea (Parramatta) & Duncan Chubb (Southern Districts) After waiting in the wings for several seasons, Parramatta giant David Lolohea had a breakout Shute Shield season in 2016 and was rewarded later in the year with a trip to France to join the Australian Barbarians. Lolohea continues to mature as a footballer and will only get better in the years to come after being named in the Waratahs extended training squad last month. He’s joined by Souths prop Duncan Chubb in the front row. Chubb led a relatively young and inexperienced Rebels forward pack to this year’s preliminary final and kept the exciting Souths backline on the front foot, despite battling neck and back problems for most of the season.
