Where Are They Now? – Warringah v Uni 2005 Grand Final

by Paul Cook - It’s Intrust Super Shute Shield semi-final time and this weekend sees the final four – Sydney University vs Warringah and Southern Districts vs Northern Suburbs - going toe-to-toe, with a place in next week’s Grand Final at the iconic North Sydney Oval up for grabs. The four teams all have history with each other of course, rivalries built up over the years of battle in Sydney club rugby’s premier competition. But of the mouth-watering clashes that lie before us, it is Uni’s meeting with Warringah this afternoon that perhaps stirs the memories more than most. It will be the biggest meeting between the Students and Rats since the infamous Shute Shield final back in 2005, when 8,000 packed into Rat Park to see the home side upset the visitors 29-23 in a classic, lifting their one and only 1st grade trophy to date in the process.
