Sydney Uni coach Tim Davidson has named a new-look side for tomorrow’s clash against Brisbane Premier Rugby grand finalists UQ.

Just four players from last year’s grand final starting side have been named to start, however Davidson remained confident of his side’s chances.

“We’ve had a solid group of players training together for a few months now and the new faces have created a lot of competition for spots,” he said.

“Tom Carter and Rob Taylor have done a brilliant job preparing the boys throughout the off season both on and off the field so I’m confident that our fitness and skill levels will be right.”

Davidson highlighted forwards Jack Blair and Declan Moore and recruit Richie Williams as three players to watch on Saturday.

“Jack was playing third grade colts two years ago but he’s worked extremely hard with our coaches to improve his game. Declan Moore played NSW 20s last year and is looking good and Richie Williams has come from Souths and has probably been our best trainer so far this year.”

Sydney Uni and UQ play at 2pm on Saturday, with the match televised live on Fox Sports.
