A sequence of images from veteran rugby photographer Andrew Frazer shows exactly how close the Shoremen came to winning this year's Shute Shield grand final against Easts.

Frazer was full of praise for referee Angus Gardner who positioned himself perfectly and made the correct call in a high pressure situation.

But we also think Frazer, who has seen quite a few rugby seasons over the years, deserves plenty of credit for nailing the shot when it mattered most.

Well done to both men for getting things right at the backend of one of the best Shute Shield matches in recent memory.
