Sydney Uni gun Declan Moore signs with Irish powerhouse

Sydney Uni hooker Declan Moore is heading to Ireland to link with Munster on the back of a standout 2021 Shute Shield season with the Students.

Moore scored 16 tries in nine matches before the season was cancelled earlier this year, five more than his nearest rival.

After spending time at the Melbourne Rebels in recent seasons, the 24-year old will head to Ireland and battle Irish international Niall Scannell and teammates Kevin O’Byrne and Diarmuid Barron for a spot in the Munster matchday 23.

Moore is an Irish-qualified player and will be eager for game time when the newly named United Rugby Championships kicks off later this month.

Previously the Pro 12 and then Pro 14, the United Rugby Championship will now feature 12 teams from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Italy as well as the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers from South Africa.
