After the longest preseason of all time, Shute Shield kick off is finally upon us and it’s not a bad weekend of rugby to start with.

Warringah and Sydney Uni have both lost some big names from last time the two sides met in the 2019 grand final but will still be hard to split when they meet at Rat Park in the match of the round.

Elsewhere, Gordon will be the first to try and defend a bulked up Beasties backline, Souths play an Eastwood side led by promising young flyhalf Tane Edmed, West Harbour and Norths will both show off their new recruits when they meet, Manly take on Western Sydney and Newcastle will be welcomed back to the Shute Shield with a date against a Randwick side bolstered by a number of Aussie 7s stars.
