Shute Shield: Race for competition’s top points scorer now a contest between three

By MARK CASHMAN

The race for the leading points scorer has developed into a race in three with Rodney Iona, Angus Sinclair and Christian Kagiassis all breaking away from the field.

Gordon’s Iona has climbed his way to the top of the field on 109 points, but he is closely followed by Angus Sinclair of Norths who kicked five from five last Saturday against Southern Districts.

Not far behind in Souths’ Kagiassis who is on 98 points after only picking up the sole conversion last weekend.

The club championship ladder is intriguing with two rounds left in the 2020 season.

Randwick top the table on 1129 but hot on their tail is Gordon with 1084 points, with Sydney Uni on 1054 points and Norths on 1005 after a clean sweep against Souths.

Uni have won the club championship for each of the past 16 seasons.
