Shute Shield: Gordon move skipper Goddard into the row, Eastwood go with wet weather heroes

By MARK CASHMAN Gordon coach Darren Coleman has pulled a selection surprise by naming his skipper Jordy Goddard in the second row for the Shute Shield grand final against Eastwood on Saturday at Leichhardt Oval. Goddard has been ever present for the Highlanders at No.8 all year, but Coleman is obviously very wary of the Woodies excellent line out and the ball carrying of their skipper Pat Sio and Sione Tau as well as Ratu Tuisese. He will team with Jack Margin in the second row. The move means that Jack Dempsey will move back to his preferred No.8 position with James Lough coming into the starting side in the No.7 jersey. Tom Silk will play blindside breakaway. The backline is the same one that started against Eastern Suburbs last weekend with Joey Walton teaming with Tautalatasi Tasi in the centres and Brandon Quinn again on the wing.
