Shute Shield: Finals to kick off with massive double header as Easts move on up

The Shute Shield finals series will kick off with a massive double header at Pittwater Rugby Park on Saturday.
Northern Suburbs (3) will play Sydney Uni (4) at 1.55pm in a game between the third and fourth placed teams and then at 4pm minor premiers Gordon (1) will take on Randwick (6) who finished sixth at the end of the home and away season.
On Sunday Eastern Suburbs (2) will play Eastwood (5) at 3pm at Pittwater Rugby Park and this will be the game that will be televised live on free to air.
Easts were the big movers as the Round 13 of the Shute Shield was run and won on Saturday jumping from fourth place to second on the ladder as the competition moves into finals mode.
The Beasties scored 12 tries, with four going to skipper Jack Grant, in a bulldozing 81-24 effort against Randwick at Woollahra Oval and will now play Eastwood in the first week of the playoffs.
The Gordon club, who secured the club championship with their 29-24 win over the Woodies, will play Randwick in the first game of their finals campaign.
Northern Suburbs dropped the single place to third on the table in the wake of their 26-14 loss to Warringah, and will now play Sydney Uni to kick off their finals campaign.

Gordon (1) v Randwick (6) at 4pm
