Shute Shield: Eastern Suburbs announce new coach for 2018

Eastern Suburbs have announced Pauli Taumoepeau as head coach and director of coaching for the 2018 and 2019 Shute Shield seasons. The former Beasties player began coaching after his playing career ended in 2013 and has led five colts teams to the finals since 2014. “I am extremely excited for next season. I am ready for the challenge and would like to thank the Board for giving me the the last 3 years to grow into this role and for giving me this opportunity," he said, "The first goal is to get all teams back firmly in the top 6 every year.  We have a good roster of talented young men who have a tremendous amount of untapped potential. “Easts to me is all about family and the club being a family environment - it has a significant personal connection to me. I grew up watching my older brother Sam play here. I played with my younger brother Afusipa in 1st grade and my son ran our team out on game day when I was captain.
