Shute Shield: Big names return for round 12 as finals race heats up

In a season defining round, second placed Manly host third placed Hunter. Gordon and Norths meet in the North Shore local derby while Uni travel to play Randwick at Coogee. 

Elsewhere, Easts and Warringah will play to keep their finals hopes alive, Eastwood and Western Sydney meet at TG Millner and Souths host West Harbour. 

Eastern Suburbs v Warringah

Easts and Warringah meet in another must win match for both sides after both recording important wins last round. 

Waratahs Will Harris (lock) and Mosese Tuipulotu (centre) both return for the Beasties while for Warringah, Martin Mulhall and Rory Suttor return to the starting side at prop and flanker respectively.

Randwick v Sydney Uni

Randwick have reshuffled their forward pack for Saturday’s clash with Uni. Paulo Leleisiuao will start at prop, Tom Nowlan will start at lock and Cormac Daly shifts to the backrow. In the backs, Jackson Mohi is out, with Zac Carr to start on the wing in his place. 

For Uni, Folau Faainga’a, Henry Robertson and George Poolman all return from the Force and will start. Tom Bell has been named at lock.

Gordon have named Tahs No.9 Harrison Goddard to start at flyhalf for Saturday’s local derby against Norths, with Joey Walton set to start at No.12 alongside him. 

Norths have made just one change to the side that beat the Two Blues last week with James Margan to start at hooker.

For Western Sydney, Austin Wallis and Jaycob Matiu will start in the backrow.

Flyhalf Hunter Hannaford is out for West Harbour. Josh Brown will start at No.10 with Justin Marsters returning to the starting side in the centres.
