Play on: QRU announces plans to finish season post lockdown

Queensland Rugby Union has released details on how it plans to complete all Premier Rugby competitions in the weeks ahead. The remaining regular season fixtures have all been cancelled and all competitions will proceed straight to finals series, with a range of finals formats to be considered depending on when the current lockdown ends. Pending the lifting of the restrictions for lockdown areas of South-East Queensland on the Queensland Premier Rugby competitions, the finals will proceed as follows: - If lockdown is lifted on Sunday 8th August 2021 – the finals will proceed as currently planned and published. - If lockdown is lifted on Sunday 15th August 2021 – the preliminary finals will be removed with the semi-finals restructured to a 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 elimination finals.
