Nudgee & Gregory Terrace continue their unbeaten GPS seasons
Nudgee and Gregory Terrace have kept their unbeaten, albeit disrupted, 2021 GPS campaigns alive following the return to competition on Saturday.
After a four week break, Nudgee flyhalf Byron Smith scored 19 of his side’s 34 points in a dominant victory over Churchie.
The win was the perfect preparation for next weekend’s grudge match against rivals TSS, who has too much class for Toowoomba in their 38-10 win.
Elsewhere, Gregory Terrace fought back from 14-0 down and scored 28 unanswered points to claim their third straight victory.
No.8 Peter-James Su’a starred for the home side, scoring twice on either side of the half time break to set up the 14 point win.
Gregory Terrace face Churchie in next weekend’s penultimate round before a final round clash against TSS.
If Nudgee can beat TSS on Saturday, they’ll face Ipswich Grammar at home in round nine.
While no official premiership will be awarded in 2021, both sides will be eager to finish the year with an undefeated record.
In the rounds final match, BBC held on to claim a 24-19 victory over Ipswich Grammar. Ipswich scored inside the final five minutes to set up a grandstand finish at Miskin Field, but couldn’t find a match winner in the final minutes.
