NSW Schools: Inter-Association Trials Week 3 Wrap Up

Scots confirmed their spot at the top of the NSW Schoolboy rugby throne with a comfortable 45-19 victory over local rivals Waverley in front of a strong crowd at Bellevue Hill. After a tight and tough opening period, Scots kicked up a gear and scored three unanswered tries through Will Harris, Ben Zucchiatti and Brett Wellington to take a 26-5 lead to the break. While Waverley showed glimpses of their best in the second half, the Double V couldn't match Scots up front, as the home side’s forward pack set the platform for another three second half tries and a 26 point victory. Elsewhere, Trinity caused the upset of the weekend, beating Joeys 22-19 after kicking a long range penalty goal on full time. In a seesawing battle, Trinity scored to go ahead 19-12 with 10 minutes remaining but leaked a soft try soon after that allowed Joeys to level the scores.
