CAS Round 3
Knox and Waverley extended their unbeaten starts to the season with important wins in round three and sit level on top of the CAS ladder with two rounds remaining.
In a thrilling contest at Hornsby, Waverley No.8 Liam Cornish crashed over and scored the match winning try in the 75th minute, after the Barker forwards looked to have sealed victory with a try just minutes earlier. Waverley flyhalf Ben Donaldson converted the try from next to the posts to seal the 15-14 win.
Knox continued their good form, scoring eight tries in an impressive 50 point victory over St Aloysius, while Trinity overcame a five point half time deficit to claim a 31-10 victory over Cranbook.
If Knox can beat Barker next week, they’ll likely set up a final round showdown against Waverley to decide the 2017 premiership.
