NSW Schools: CAS dominate GPS in opening match

CAS I have recorded a dominant 26-0 victory over GPS I in their opening match of the 2017 NSW Schools trials. While GPS dominated possession and territory early, CAS defended their line strongly in a scoreless first half. CAS then took control shortly after the break with three quick tries including two from intercepts, before sealing a famous victory with a try to Byron Hollingworth-Dessent. Waverley flyhalf Ben Donaldson finished the match with a double and 16 of CAS’ 26 points. Earlier in the evening, GPS II fought back from 26-14 down to claim a 31-31 draw against CAS II. The NSW Schools trials continue on Friday at Knox with GPS, CAS, ISA, CHS, CCC and AICES to play before the NSW Schools teams are selected on Friday evening.
