NRC: Western Sydney Rams name team to play Rays

Western Sydney Rams coach John Muggleton has named captain Paul Asquith at flyhalf for his sides opening round clash against the Sydney Rays at North Sydney Oval on Sunday. The former Australian Sevens and Melbourne Rebels utility is one of six Southern Districts players in the starting XV, with centres Apo Latunipulu and Denny Godinet both named in the midfield. Former Reds scrumhalf Scott Gale has been given first crack at the No.9 spot, with Western Force flyer Albert Nikoro named at fullback. In the forwards, Waratahs lock Senio Telafoa will play alongside giant Souths forward Fili Tufui. Hooker Hugh Roach will miss the opening match. Fijian Olympic 7s star Vatemo Ravouvou wasn't considered for selection but is expected to make his NRC debut in round two.
