Sunday, 3pm: Gordon v Manly – Live on 7TWO

Manly continued its unbeaten start to 2015 with victory over Warringah last weekend, but it was soured by an awful injury to captain Katoni Ale.

Rugby News has been told Ale is in good spirits after leaving hospital during the week and still has his sense of humour.

“There would have been one silver lining. You would have sold a lot of beers while play was waiting to resume,” he told Manly president David Begg.

Mitch Daniel replaces Ale at openside flanker this weekend.

After a brilliant start to the year, Norths has lost four of its last five matches and will be desperate to return to the winner’s circle this weekend.

“Consistency is the key for us,” Simon Cron told Rugby News.

“You can’t miss tackles, particularly one on ones. You need to make the game line in attack, maintain possession and play structured rugby. If we can do that for 80 minutes, we’ve got a good shot.”

Friday, 8pm: Gordon v Sydney Uni

After losing to Randwick last Sunday, Gordon has had just five days to prepare for tonight’s clash against Sydney Uni.

“If we play like we did last week, we don’t stand a chance,” a dissapointed Geoff Townsend told Rugby News.

“Our main aim is to get a comprehensive performance across all areas and challenge Uni right across the park.”

The Students will also be looking to bounce back after sneaking home against Parramatta last weekend.

The Two Blues led up until the 76th minute at University Oval and fell just short of causing the upset of the season.

Stu Dunbar and David Hickey return for the Students for tonight’s Friday night clash.
