GPS have no room for error according to Fijian product Selestino Ravutaumada

Galloper’s No.15 Selestino Ravutaumada says his new side is confident they can hold on for a spot in the top four ahead of a match with Souths at Chipsy Wood Oval this Saturday.
“We have two games left and we need to those two games with bonus points if we want to say in the top four,” Ravutaumada told Rugby News.
“It’s a really hard competition to make the finals and there are clubs who have to work hard for it.”
Ravutaumada has slotted seamlessly into GPS’ outfit since his arrival against Bond in round twelve.
The athletic fullback has helped the Gallopers move into third spot on the ladder with two decisive weeks to come against Souths and UQ.
The Fijian born talent moved from New Zealand to Australia during pre-season and has enjoyed the new environment.
“It’s been good, GPS is a good club with good people around,” he said.
“It’s so different from New Zealand.
“In New Zealand it’s cold and here it’s warm so I like it here.”
NRL club the New Zealand Warriors recognised Ravutaumada’s potential early on.
Despite a stint with Warriors’ Auckland Nine’s team, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the ex-league prodigy.
“I was still in school and the Warriors came to pick me up and I signed for two years.”
“I took a year gap after that to have surgery done.
“I started playing rugby again and sevens and I got picked for the NPC season but I didn’t play because my visa wasn’t working.”
Ravutaumada has shone in the handful of games he’s played for the Galloper’s this season despite his reluctance to admit it.
“I’ve been playing up and down most of the weeks.”
“Most of my games have been heaps of walk ons and hopefully I come better when I get back on the field.”
Injury struck the fullback in GPS’ win over Norths last week but he’s hopeful of returning in time for the semi-finals.
‘Stino’ has felt right at home at Yoku Road.
“I’ve bonded mostly with the Fijian boys and the Tongans and Samoans.”
“The Australians are just blending it in so it’s a good club with good mates.”
In addition to finishing off the season strongly, GPS’ No.15 has big things in mind for the future both on and off the field.
“I’m trying to spend my time here for Super Rugby and then go overseas and play over there.”
“I want to study as well because footy won’t take you for long so I’ll be studying aircraft engineering soon.”
