Current and former Shute Shield guns feature in stacked Tonga RWC squad
A host of current and former Shute Shield players have been named in Toutai Kefu’s impressive 35-man squad to begin preparations for this year’s Rugby World Cup.
Two Blues fullback Otu Mausia has been selected on the back of a brilliant opening 10 rounds for Western Sydney, with former West Harbour and Randwick playmaker Patrick Pelligrini also named. Pelligrini has been playing with Coventry in the UK in recent years.
Former West Harbour and Waratahs prop David Lolohea has been picked after impressing for French Division 2 club Aix.
Former Southern Districts lock Lopeti Timani, now playing with Cardiff, is also named in a forward pack that also features former Two Blues’ and Wallaby lock Adam Coleman.
Afusipa Tuamoepeau, former Easts back and younger brother of Tahs coach Pauli Taumoepeau has been named in the backs, alongside former Wallaby Israel Folau and a host of former All Blacks.
