Gregory Terrace coach Adrian Thompson is hoping a fast start this season can help his side challenge for the GPS premiership.

A new look Terrace side will also play a different style to last season when the competition kicks off on Saturday July 13.

“We’re going okay at the moment. All of our trials have been really tough and BBC and State High were very good. Then we’ve got one final trial against Nudgee on Saturday,” Thompson told Rugby News.

“We haven’t got many boys back from last year so we’ve spent most of the preseason getting the guys used to what they need to do to compete at first XV level.

"We’re a young side. I think we’ll probably end up with 12 or 13 guys 17 or younger and that presents some challenges but I think they’ll give it a good crack.
