Warringah coach Mike Ruthven has given his side something of a recast as they prepare for the Battle of the Beaches against Manly at Pittwater Rugby Park on Saturday.

The Round Nine match between the two northern beaches rivals is the highlight of Round Nine of the Shute Shield that also features cracking games in Gordon v Eastwood, Randwick v Sydney Uni and Eastern Suburbs v Northern Suburbs.

Ruthven has brought promising line out forward Andrew Davies back into the Rats’ pack for the game against the Marlins and pushed Alex O’Dell to the side of the scrum.

That means that Rory Suttor, one of Warringah’s form players over the past month, will work off the bench.
