Southern Districts appoint new head coach for 2020 Shute Shield season

Former Sydney University and West Harbour mentor Todd Louden will coach Southern Districts in 2019.  Louden has coached at professional and semi-professional clubs in Australian and around the world and will join a Rebels outfit coming off a disappointing 2019 season.  Souths played in the 2012 and 2014 Shute Shield grand finals and played deep into the playoffs in  2016 and 2017 but have missed the finals in their past two attempts.  According to a press release from the club, Louden will be “working in a part time capacity with coaches, managers, players and management to create a sustainable club wide rugby program from Seniors through to Colts and Women's Sevens.  “The program will focus on a number of key areas including, but not limited to, coach development, high performance, strength and conditioning, player recruitment, player retention, player welfare and skills development.” Club president Ken McKay said its hoped Louden’s appointment will help th
