NSW Schools: CAS, ISA upstage GPS in round 4 of Inter Association trials

St Augustine’s have caused the upset of the 2018 NSW Schoolboy season, beating GPS powerhouse Scots 22-21 at Bellevue Hill. After defeating local rivals Waverley a week earlier, Scots took plenty of confidence into the clash and opened the scoring. But Auggies looked to disrupt the defending GPS premiers at every opportunity and halfback Freddie Lussick capitalised twice. The nippy No.9 took an intercept and showed plenty of pace to score the visitors opening try and toed a loose ball through later in the match and regathered to score under the posts and give his side a 22-14 lead. The Scots forwards rolled their way down the park and scored from close range soon after to reduce the deficit to just one point in the final minutes. They attacked again off the back of an impressive driving maul in the 80th minute and looked capable of crossing again, but the backline got caught in centre field and were penalised for obstruction, handing Auggies an unlikely victory in the
