NSW Schools: Waverley & Scots claim CAS & GPS premierships

Waverley have claimed their second straight CAS premiership, defeating Knox, the team they shared the title with last year, in the final round. Elsewhere, Scots held off a fast finishing Kings outfit to wrap up the GPS premiership with one round remaining. At Queens Park, over 5000 fans watched Waverley produce arguably their best 15 minutes of rugby this year to blow Knox away and claim an impressive 47-17 win and the outright premiership The home side led 26-5 at the break before Knox played their way back into the match and scored twice to reduce the deficit to just nine points in the 65th minute. With the match and the outright title on the line, Waverley kicked up a gear and produced some trademark running rugby to score three unanswered tries and seal a memorable season. Elsewhere, Barker claimed second spot after a 63-10 win over Cranbrook, while Tane Edmed kicked a conversion on full time to seal a 21-19 come from behind victory for Trinity over At Aloysius’.
