Queensland Reds re-sign young guns
The Queensland Reds have secured the services of three of their most promising young players with Duncan Paia’aua, Izaia Perese and Hamish Stewart all committing to the Reds through to 2019.
Paia’aua (22), now in his third season with the club, has established himself as the Reds’ starting inside centre in 2017. The Rockhampton-raised product returned to Rugby in late 2014 and has since established himself as a regular starter, having played the most minutes of any Reds player so far this year.
Perese (20) is in his first year of Super Rugby, having made his debut in Round 2. The winger featured in 10 games for the Reds this season before heading to Georgia with the Australian Under 20s, where he has been one of the national team’s key attacking threats, scoring a hat-trick in their recent win over Italy.
Flyhalf Stewart (19) also made his debut earlier this season, after leading the Queensland Under 20s to an undefeated national title. While still in the early stage
