Warringah coach Greg Marr said a disappointing first half performance cost his side a spot in the Intrust Shute Shield grand final. Looking to book a place in the decider for the first time since the Rats beat Sydney Uni in the 2005 grand final, Warringah were unable to match the Students in the early stages and trailed 26-0 after 30 minutes following tries to Tom Robertson, Jack Reddan, Folau Fainga’a and Jake Gordon. Although Warringah scored the next two tries, three yellow cards and a concussion to flyhalf Angus Roberts ended any hope of a second half comeback. “Uni started really well and it took us a while to get settled,” Marr told Rugby News. “Losing Hamish didn't help in that regard.
