Club Rugby stars named in Australian Barbarians squad

Club Rugby players from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra have been named in an Australian Barbarians side to play the Australian U20s on Tuesday night ahead of next month's Junior World Championships in Manchester. Seven players from Canberra's John I Dent Cup, five players each from Sydney's Shute Shield and Brisbane's Premier Rugby and two players from Melbourne's Dewar Shield have been named in the initial 19-man squad with a number of players set to be added to the squad later today. The side will be coached by ARU National Coaching Programs Coordinator Michael Magriplis. An Australian Barbarians team made up completely of NRC players toured New Zealand late last year and won two matches against Heartland XV, a representative side from New Zealand's Heartland Cup.
