QLD Premier Rugby: Logan City to join competition in 2018

The Queensland Rugby Union has today announced that Logan City Rugby Club will enter the Queensland Premier Rugby competition in 2018. The announcement is the first expansion to the competition since 2005. Rob Donaghue, General Manager – Operations said: “The QRU has conferred provisional Premier Rugby status on Logan City Rugby Club and will now work with the club through a transition to prepare them for entry into the competition in the 2018 season. “The announcement is significant for the club as well as the region, which is one of the fastest growing in Queensland, and has a strong history of producing great Rugby talent such as current St.George Queensland Reds players Karmichael Hunt, Chris Kuridrani and Sef Fa’agase, as well as Wallabies Israel Folau, Matt Toomua and Quade Cooper.” Logan City Rugby Club President Michael Gallagher said: “As a club we’re excited for the opportunity to play in the top level grassroots Rugby competition in Queensland.
