Western Force upset Hurricanes in opening Super Rugby trial

The Western Force have started 2016  with an impressive 28-0 victory over last year's finalists the Hurricanes in a trial match at Gosford last night. The Force ran in four unanswered tries in their opening hit-out of 2016, however it was the Perth based sides defence that was perhaps most impressive despite playing with just 13 men for part of the second half. Adam Coleman crossed early in the match to open the scoring, with Steve Mafi, new recruit Semisi Masirewa and Ammon Matuauto all scoring in the second half to secure a comfortable win. The force play their final trial match against the Asia Pacific Dragons in Perth next weekend.
