2023 Australian Schoolboys & Barbarians teams named to play Tongan Schools

The Australian Schoolboys and an Australian Schoolboys Barbarians side have both been named following the conclusion of the Australian Schools Championships in Sydney on Thursday.

The two sides will both play matches against Tongan Schools later this year.

An Australian U18s team will also be selected following the completion of the National U18 Academy Series later this year. This side will play New Zealand U18s.

Players from the National U18 Academy Series did not play in the Australian Schools Championships.

The Australian Schools Championships featured players from several pathways, including Sydney Juniors and NSW Country Juniors. This pathway was established for under 18 players who had left school to start a trade or had graduated as a 17-year old, widening Rugby Australia’s catchment.
